This short article is a simple way to understand different kinds of stressors that we each face each day. It is arranged in terms of the 7 system. This is a useful way to organize information that is related to the way our bodies are organized.
1. PHYSICAL STRESSORS
These include heat, cold, physical pressure, sights, sounds and noise, odors, hunger, thirst, pain and other negative bodily feelings, and other physical sensations that are unpleasant or harm the body.
2. EMOTIONAL STRESSORS
These include fear, anger, rage, and other negative emotions. It could also include inability to feel any emotions.
3. EGO STRESSORS
These include arrogance, egotism, or lack of will power.
4. SOCIAL STRESSORS
These include social anxiety, loneliness, too much socializing, not having good friends or not spending quality time with others.
5. PARTNERSHIP STRESSORS
These may include problems in a marriage or business, trouble expressing oneself, or lack of creativity in one's life.
6. INTELLECTUAL STRESSORS
These include inability to think, brain fog, thoughts racing out of control, or persistent negative thoughts such as thoughts of death or paranoia.
7. SPIRITUAL STRESSORS
This includes the stress of trying to live by the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule and handling what comes up when you do this. For example, it might include your conscience bothering you about something you did or failed to do. It could include the need to forgive someone and move on in your life.
