I. INTRODUCTION

DEFINITION

Proteins are chains of amino acids. Peptides are a type of protein that are composed of relatively short chains of amino acids.

Peptide supplements are a category of food supplements that are made of peptides. The most common one is called collagen peptides. This is sold to improve one's skin or to lessen wrinkles. Other peptides are said to improve muscle strength and for other purposes.

MORE COMMON USE

Peptide supplements are sold at health food stores and online. They are also being used in some medical drugs.

People are being told they are harmless and that one may feel better taking them. More people are taking these supplements, at times directed by the thugs, Rogues or satans.

One of our clients is using a number of peptides, so we were able to observe the effects on his body.

WHY AVOID PEPTIDES

We do not recommend taking peptide supplements. The main reason is they are extremely yin in macrobiotic terminology. This is horrible for health, no matter what other benefits they may have.

We also do not think they are too effective. They are basically amino acid supplements.

We believe that when one takes a peptide supplement, when it reaches the stomach the peptides are broken down into amino acids. This means that the peptide substance is not absorbed as a peptide.

We do not recommend amino acid supplements, except in some rare cases of cancer. Most often, we find that it is much better to obtain amino acids from food than from pills or powders.
