DEFINITION OF ENERGY LOCKS
1. Ways that our bodies alter themselves to survive by reducing the level, degree or amount of complexity in their structure.
2. Adaptations or compensations that lock up the body’s movement or ability in some way, but they allow the body to keep going.
3. Backup systems, emergency systems, crutches, or fail safe systems that keep the body alive when it is weak, malnourished or out of balance in some other way. They do this by “locking up” or tying up some of the body’s functions, simplifying the body structure or functioning in some way.
Our bodies have a number of these emergency or fail safe systems. It is part of the beautiful design of the body to maintain its survival.
A need for more attention. There is a need to pay more attention to the crutches our bodies use to maintain themselves in the face of malnutrition and stress. For example, the body can use raising the blood pressure, raising the blood sugar, raising the temperature, holding on to negative emotions, and more in order to maintain itself.
Too often, doctors of all kinds just label these compensations as symptoms or diseases, and seek to suppress them. A better approach would be to understand them as compensations or energy locks, and find out underlying causes that result in them.
Crutches. Biochemical locks are basically the same as the idea on this website of crutches. A crutch is something that holds you up if you are weak, until you can regain your strength and stand up on your own. For details, read Crutches.
Hardening. The concept of energy locks is also related to the development concept of hardening. It is a change in the body that hardens an area of a type of tissue to cope with stress. For details, read Plating, Hardening, Tempering And Lubricants.
II. TYPES OF ENERGY LOCKS (1-7)
Energy locks in the body can be at many levels of functioning. Let us discuss each of them.
1. PHYSICAL LOCKS
STRUCTURAL LOCKS
Muscles can lock up to literally hold up a weak body. They become so tense that they function more like tendons and ligaments. This is a common cause of muscle pain.
Fascia layers may adhere to one another in an attempt to strengthen a weak body. These are called Adhesions and can be a major health problem.
BIOCHEMICAL LOCKS
Our bodies have numerous biochemical energy lock systems. They keep it going in the face of overwhelming stress, malnutrition, disease and other conditions.
The oxidation rate. A normal oxidation rate is flexible. It increases or decreases depending on the needs of the body.
However, if the body becomes malnourished, it will “lock up” and become essentially stuck in fast oxidation, slow oxidation or a four lows pattern. This is a common type of biochemical locking that occurs in our bodies.
Mineral buildup. The body may accumulate a mineral in a body structure to maintain itself. A good example is iron, which builds up in the brain in the amygdala. It causes anger and rage, but can help balance a sick body.
Another very common example in older people is the buildup of cadmium and copper in weak arteries. It keeps you alive, but the arteries become inflamed and brittle.
Fatty deposits in the arteries. The body may coat the inside of weak arteries with fatty plaques to strengthen them. This is like wrapping duct tape around a weak hose to keep it from breaking, except the body puts the “tape” on the inside, not the outside.
This keeps one alive, but reduces circulation. Also, a piece of plaque can break off and cause a heart attack or stroke.
THE CONCEPT OF PREFERRED MINERALS
Our bodies use various minerals as crutches or supports when it does not have enough of the proper nutrients to keep alive. Here are examples.
Cadmium. The body uses the toxic metal cadmium in another way. It supports the sodium level by damaging the kidneys.
By so doing it helps maintain the sodium/potassium ratio. To increase cadmium, people smoke cigarettes or marijuana, both of which have some cadmium in the proper form to act as a crutch.
Cadmium is very toxic to the body, but it will keep one alive for a while. For details, read Cadmium.
Lead and the bones. The body can use lead to strengthen weak bones. This works, but lead can cause over a hundred health conditions including cancer.
The oxides. This is another set of powerful locks. These are mainly oxide and carbonate forms of iron, manganese, and aluminum. Other minerals that can build up in oxide form are chromium, selenium, boron, vanadium, molybdenum, lithium and perhaps others.
These forms of minerals are not ideal. However, they are very alkaline, which helps balance an over-acidic body. They also irritate the tissues in a way that helps maintain the sodium level and the sodium/potassium ratio when the body is weak.
For details, read Iron, Manganese And Aluminum – The Amigos.
Other toxic metals. The body may use a dozen or more toxic metals as a locking system to keep itself going when nutritionally depleted. Toxic metals may occupy enzyme binding sites or form structural components to stimulate, balance, or hold the body in ways that allow it to function when malnourished. These include copper, mercury, lead, nickel and many others.
SO-CALLED DISEASES THAT ARE REALLY LOCKS DESIGNED TO KEEP ONE ALIVE
Some health conditions that are labeled 'diseases' are ways the body attempts to balance itself when it is weak, toxic and malnourished. For example, the body may raise the blood pressure to improve circulation to vital organs when the arteries are clogged or circulation is impaired for some other reason.
The body may also raise the blood sugar level to keep water in the blood or to force more glucose into the tissues when cell permeability is too low.
Even toxins produced by infectious organisms such as yeasts can be adaptive, meaning used by the body to support the sodium level or other key mineral levels. This can make it difficult to eradicate these infections until one corrects the need for support.
2. EMOTIONAL ENERGY LOCKS
Many people use emotions, especially anger, as support to cope with overwhelming fear. The anger, however, “locks up” the person's personality, reducing a person's flexibility, honesty and integrity.
Other people focus on sex as a compensation for fatigue. This, however, also “locks up” the personality to a degree.
3. EGO-RELATED LOCKS
Many people become egocentric or too full of themselves as a compensation for weakness and other problems. This is extremely common and often begins early in life. It can help keep one going, but it “locks up” the personality and impairs its functioning.
4. SOCIAL LOCKS
This is a big area. A lot of what passes for friendship are just compensations for loneliness, boredom, and feelings of alienation. This can apply to parties, sports events and other gatherings.
5. PARTNERSHIP AND WORK-RELATED LOCKS
Marriage should be a holy and special arrangement. However, in some cases it is just a compensation for loneliness or some other need that would be better taken care of in other ways.
One's work or occupation can also be mainly a compensation that keeps one going, but “locks up” a lot of a person's time in fairly useless or uncreative activity.
6. PSYCHOLOGICAL ENERGY LOCKS
These are neuroses or fixations that keep a person functioning mentally in the face of stress, inability to think clearly or process information, or other mental and emotional difficulty. They can help, but they “lock up” a person's personality.
Habits like smoking also function as compensations. One may think that a habit such as smoking cigarettes or marijuana is not under the person’s control, but in fact it gives a person a sense of control to know they can alter their consciousness and body activity on their own.
7. “SPIRITUAL” ENERGY LOCKS
Religion as a lock. Some people use religions as compensations and adaptations to cope with weakness and other problems. Some of this is okay, and it definitely can help one cope. However, it is not the same as truly loving God and seeking for the truth.
Subtle energy locks. The sciences of acupuncture, acupressure, shiatsu massage, jin shin jyutsu and some of chiropractic, osteopathic and cranio-sacral sciences are concerned with opening locks that affect subtle energy flow through the body.
