MICROWAVE OVENS

            Please do not use microwave ovens.  The reasons are:

 

1. They do much more damage to your food than regular cooking methods such as steaming, stir-frying, roasting, baking and pressure-cooking.  Studies have shown that microwave ovens destroy about 96% of the anti-oxidants in foods, while steaming destroys about 16% of them.

            Microwaves have an oxidant-damaging effect on all living things.  Therefore, it would make sense that they would do more oxidant damage and use up the anti-oxidants found naturally in our food.

 

2. All microwave ovens emit harmful radiation.  In fact, for safety, a person must stand at least 6 to 8 feet away from one of these ovens while it is operating.  This is difficult in a small kitchen.

 

            Much more could be said.  However, this is the essence of the problems with microwave ovens.  Please do not use microwave ovens for anything.
