This is the title of one of the talks offered by the Shanti Christo Foundation. Its theme is an important one and the subject of this short article.
WHY DOES LOVE ALONE HEAL?
The reason is that in order to overcome or transcend any problem of any kind, in the body or elsewhere, one must first allow and embrace the problem. This is a loving approach to solving problems of all kinds.
This does not mean that you will be stuck with the problem or condition forever, as some believe. In fact, this is the only way “through” the issue. It reminds me of a Rolfer who explained to me that when he dug his elbow into my back, I should not fight the pain, but instead attempt to allow and embrace it, and in this way I would transcend it.
The opposite approach. Often, people think that by rejecting parts of themselves or their life that they don’t like, that these rejected aspects or incidents will go away. This is sometimes called “positive thinking”, although it is no such thing. It is really just simple denial and projection.
By the way, there is a time for such thinking. This is when one is deeply caught in negative thinking so that one can hardly function. In this case, what may seem like denial is not really that. Instead, it is an attempt to balance the negative thinking with thoughts that are more positive and real.
This is fine for an emergency, but one must also allow and embrace the negative thoughts in order to get to their cause and transcend them. The pushing down mental exercise, and in fact a nutritional balancing program tends to do this automatically.
I don’t fully understand why this occurs. The entire program, and particularly the pushing exercise, seem to clarify thinking and allow one to fully process old traumas, and hidden emotions and thoughts. Indeed, this is most annoying for some of our clients who would rather not allow and embrace this “dark side” of themselves.
TO WHICH SITUATION DOES THIS APPLY?
In short, to everything. This is a key. If you feel sad, allow it, rather than fight it all the time. If you have a weak stomach or liver, allow it. If you are shy or awkward around people or if you don’t think too well, allow it and embrace it, which just means let it get close to you. Do not fear these things, although that is an understandable response.
This is how one can really love the self, a related theme of the Jeshua material. Otherwise, one rejects, and it is like rejecting one of your hands or your feet. It cripples you and interferes with all aspects of your life.
Projection also causes other problems for all of us because our rejected thoughts, emotions and other problems such as violence and hatred are picked up by other weaker souls who may act them out.
