Bettina Bien Greaves (1917-2018) was an American writer and teacher who did critical writing in the field of economics.
She lived during all the wars of the 20th century, including the birth of communism, Nazi rule in Germany, Mao Tse Tung in China, World War I, World Ward II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Free market economics (also called capitalism). Bettina Greaves authored over 34 books and many more articles about the vital importance of capitalism and free market economics for the health and survival of nations.
For example, she wrote about the dangers of tariffs and the importance of free trade. She wrote about the horror of government debt and inflation, and the stupidity of government welfare programs.
The Austrian School of Economics. This critical economic science is also called Austrian economics because several of its most important authors came from Austria. These include Carl Menger (1840-1921), Ludwig Von Mises (1881-1973), Friedrich Hayek (1899-1992), Friedrich von Wieser (1851-1926), Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk (1851-1914) and Joseph Schumpeter (1883-1950), Most worked mainly in the United States.
Other extremely important names are Adam Smith (1723-1790) from Scotland and Claude-Frédéric Bastiat (1801-1850), who lived in France. Another important name is Israel Meir Kirzner (1930- ) who came to America from Great Britain.
Other most important names are the Americans, Thomas Sowell (1930 -), Walter E. Williams (1936-2020), Rose Wilder Lane (1886-1968) and Milton and Rose Friedman (1912-2006). Ayn Rand (1905-1982), whose real name was Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum, was born in Russia and worked in the United States. Isabel Paterson (1886-1961), whose real name was Isabel Mary Bowler, was born in Canada and came to the United States.
II. THE HORRORS OF SOCIALISM, COMMUNISM AND DICTATORSHIP
Bettina Greaves also wrote about the horror and destructiveness of socialism, communism, and dictatorship. Her writing is accurate and powerful.
Bettina Greaves was a great teacher to thousands of people. We desperately need her work today because there is so much lying and misinformation spread by our politicians and by the aliens, thugs, rogues or satans.
A development client. We keep strict privacy. However, I am told I can say that Bettina Bien Greaves also happened to be one of our nutrition clients. She lived to be 100, and perhaps would still be alive except that she started taking Tylenol and other pain/anti-inflammatory drugs. The drugs punched a hole in her stomach and ruined her kidneys. It is very sad, but a good lesson.
Bettina Bien Greaves left behind a lot of books and articles, but there is an effort now to get rid of her influence. Please look her up and start reading and listening. You will become truly informed and truly wise.
