ALTERNATIVE ENERGY MADE EASY

There is no need for atomic energy, just as there is no need to deplete the earth of all her fossil fuel reserves.  However, present sources of energy are far safer environmentally than atomic energy.  Here is why:

1. Uranium is always unsafe.  It is terribly unsafe for miners and pollutes the air, water and food supply during mining of uranium.

2. Most uranium comes from unstable regions of the globe.  It is hard to locate and will cause wars over availability, just as we are seeing today with oil.

3. Uranium is also not a plentiful material and will require tremendous and disgraceful mining operations.

4, Uranium pollutes terribly during operation of the plants.  Read Low Level Radiation by Sternglas and other books on this subject for confirmation.

5. The plants have to be concreted over after 50-70 years.  They literally pollute the earth visually and radioactively for thousands of years.

6. Other dangerous activities include but are not limited to cleanup of an older plant or deactivation, as it is euphemistically called.  It is a danger to the workers and to the community if something should somehow go wrong

7. Radioactive waste must be transported somehow to dumps deep within the earth.  If an earthquake occurs, which will happen from time to time, it could all be released into the air.  This is what we are giving our children and all their descendants for thousands of years, when it is totally unnecessary.

Some of the waste can and will be recycled due to the next reason to stop nuclear proliferation.

8, Nuclear plants are ridiculously expensive.  They have to be strong enough to withstand bomb attacks, if that is even possible, and to avoid mishaps that could easily wipe out an entire city or, in fact, many cities.

9. Nuclear is dangerous to national security.  It can be sabotaged, with thousands of deaths with a well-placed device like a nuclear bomb.

The only reason it is worth doing is because we are all so dependent on the power grid.  If not, solar would be far cheaper for everyone and, in fact, is cheaper today with a few incentives.  Soon it will be much cheaper with new technology.  Therefore, why not wait and, in the meantime, use options such as hydrogen, discussed below.  Here are benefits of hydrogen Ð and there are very few drawbacks.

HYDROGEN FUEL Ð A TEMPORARY SOLUTION THAT WORKS FINE

1, The gas and vapor that comes out of the tailpipe is water, plain and simple.  It may rust your muffler, but that is all the pollution it causes.  It also cleans up car engines and is more powerful, per pound, than gasoline as a fuel.

2. Hydrogen will burn in our cars and our power plants with some conversion, and is not a costly conversion process.

3.  Hydrogen power requires a small amount of electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.  It can be done while a car is driving along, requiring very little gasoline and avoiding the storage problem with hydrogen and other fuels.  In other words, the car makes its own fuel.

The internet already offers conversion units that are under $1000.00 and often far less for any car, truck, boat or even aircraft.
