A essential concept in nutritional balancing science is to trust the process.  This is a rather unusual concept for most people because it is not emphasized or used much in conventional medical therapies, or in most holistic healing, either.

WHAT PROCESS DOES THIS REFER TO?

The process I am referring to is the complex working of the healing intent of the body and mind.  This intent is sometimes also called the wisdom of the body, the vital force of healing, survival instincts (as in animals) or the teleology or goal-oriented behavior of the body.  In systems theory terms, it is the self-regulating ability of our bodies and minds.  This means the body and mind can change and alter themselves in response to their environment in order to say alive and be healthy.

The autopilot or cruise control analogy. I sometimes liken this healing intent to the autopilot on an aircraft or ship.  A simpler analogy is to liken it to the cruise control of an automobile.  The purpose of these somewhat intelligent devices is to keep us on course and to keep us safe.

Trusting the process therefore has to do with trusting the “autopilot” or “cruise control” that we all have inside that wants to keep us moving ahead at the right speed and direction.

This analogy is very incomplete, however, because cruise controls and autopilots are very crude devices compared to the healing intent and self-regulating mechanisms of our bodies and brains.  They help with self-regulation, but the body’s autopilot does much more.

It is goal-seeking or teleological, operating from perfection backwards into physical reality.  It actually moves the human being toward perfection, and toward what is called on this website mental or spiritual development.  For more on this interesting topic and aspect of nutritional balancing, read the section of articles entitled Development.

THE MYSTERIOUS NATURE OF OUR TELEOLOGY

This body wisdom or self-regulating ability is very mysterious!  One cannot really feel this intent or teleology, and you cannot see it.  However, it is there all the time, or one would die rather quickly.

How it operates from perfection backwards is quite amazing.  Also, it is built into every cell of the body, and it can compensate for and adapt to millions of stressors and situations such as infections, accidents, toxic metal poisoning, emotional traumas, and so much more.  It is at work 24 hours a day, from conception onward, and never stops as long as there is life and a soul in the body.

RETRACING AND HEALING REACTIONS ARE OFTEN REACTIONS OF THE BODY’S WISDOM

What we call healing reactions or retracing is often the work of this body wisdom or vital force.  Exactly how this works the way it does is a mystery.  However, it will cause symptoms to flare up, at times, in order to heal the body.  It will cause toxic metals to be suddenly eliminated by various routes, in the fastest and best way possible.  It can also cause emotions and thoughts to arise in the mind that need to come to consciousness in order to be acknowledged and released.  For much more on this topic that is closely related to teleology, read Retracing And Healing Reactions.

TELEOLOGY RELATED TO BIO-ENERGETICS, ANOTHER KEY CONCEPT IN NUTRITIONAL BALANCING SCIENCE

Energetics is the role of energy and energy production in the healing process.  Producing and maintaining sufficient energy is a basic function or activity of all life forms.  It is needed for repair, regeneration, and for mental and spiritual development.

Dr. Paul Eck realized this very early in his career, and set about finding out what was needed to optimize the body’s adaptive energy production.  This term comes from the work of Dr. Hans Selye, MD, founder of the stress theory of disease, a more advanced concept also related to this article.

Examples of ways nutritional balancing programs focus on optimizing energy production in the body and brain include:

1. Optimizing cellular energy production of ATP in the mitochondria.

2. Balancing the charge on the cell membranes, which is a kinetic energy principle.

3. Providing the correct raw materials, if you will, for trillions of enzymes such as the alkaline reserve minerals, vitamins, etc.

4. Balancing the body delicately to provide the environmental conditions for optimum enzyme activity such as the temperature, pH, and chemical media for all the body’s trillions of enzymatic reactions.

5. Improving the “energy glands”, the thyroid and adrenals, mainly, that produce the “fuel and the spark” to ignite the fuel.

6. Helping to get rid of the end products of energy production that are basically “waste” or “exhaust” that get in the way of energy production.

7. Balancing the autonomic nervous system, which largely regulates energy production in the cells and elsewhere.

8. Promoting an energy-building lifestyle.  This includes going to bed early, getting loads of rest, not overdoing on exercise, which uses up energy, deep breathing and other methods to introduce more oxygen into the body, drinking the correct type and amount of water to properly hydrate the body, and more.

9. The use of specific procedures only to promote better energy, such as the coffee enema, the near infrared lamp sauna, keeping the spine limber and open, foot and hand reflexology and others.

10. Avoiding many habits, lifestyles, toxins, foods and procedures that have benefits but can impede energy production in some way.

This is the bio-energetics of nutritional balancing science, a topic of study all its own.

MAKING THE BODY YANG TODAY ENHANCES THE LIFE FORCE AND THE HEALING PROCESS

This is a very controversial aspect of trusting the process.  However, our experience is that making the body more yang, which is not always easy, is critical today for proper operation of the body’s wisdom or teleological functioning.

This is done mainly through the diet, and care in choosing the foods, the supplements, the lifestyle (such as avoiding too many baths), avoiding toxins that are yin, and even through the cultivation of certain attitudes, and not others.   This large topic is explored in several articles on this site such as Yin And Yang Healing and Yin Disease.

WHY MUST ONE TRUST THE WORKINGS OF THE HEALING INTENT OR VITAL FORCE?

One reason is that deep healing is so complex, and so involved, and so difficult, that it is best handled by the self-healing intent or teleology of the body.  It is trusting the natural healing processes that allows nutritional balancing to heal the body at very deep levels.

A second reason is that if one cannot trust the process, which can cause healing to feel like a sort of roller coaster ride, at times, then usually a person will not stay with a nutritional balancing program.  In other words, it is necessary to trust the ups and downs of the program, which are absolutely normal with nutritional balancing.

TRUSTING THE HEALING INTENT OF THE BODY CAN BE SCARY

The reason for this is that the ego mind is not in control.  It is somewhat similar to setting the cruise control on an automobile or the autopilot on a ship and then allowing it to operate freely.  Most people realize that this is not always easy.  There is a tendency to believe that the ego mind can run things better, even though it is usually not true.

DO ALL HEALING METHODS USE THE TELEOLOGY OF THE BODY?

All healing methods, even drugs and surgery, acknowledge this healing force of the body.  Nutritional balancing depends upon it to a much greater degree and does not resort to remedies.  Instead, nutritional balancing programs seek to provide the raw materials to power and repair the body’s teleology, and to  “get out of the way” so the natural healing intent or teleology can proceed to heal all manner of ailments.  This theory works very well.  It is also important in some other healing arts such as chiropractic and homeopathy.

HEALING INTENT IS RELATED TO ETHERIC RESET

Teleology, or the wisdom of the body and mind are related to a concept that is the subject of another article on this website, entitled Etheric Reset.  This is the idea that there is an etheric or subtle blueprint or plan for the human body.

If one can activate and support the natural healing intent and ability of the body enough, it will connect to and begin to restore the original etheric blueprint or plan for our bodies, which is quite amazing.  It involves superior health, superior intelligence, a more powerful immune response, longer life and more.  This is one of the main goals of a nutritional balancing program, and not just the removal of annoying symptoms.

TRUSTING THE PROCESS IMPORTANT FOR THE PROPER USE OF THE MENTAL EXERCISE RECOMMENDED ON THIS WEBSITE

The idea of trusting the process is also central to the mental exercise suggested on this website in the article entitled Mental Exercise for Healing.  Essentially, this exercise, especially moving energy downward from the head to the feet, activates the healing intent in a very powerful way.

It is also very important for a type of active prayer in which one asks that “Thy Will Be Done”.  One brings energy down from the heavens to the earth ( a downward movement of energy).  The phrase in the bible is “thy will be done on earth, as it is already done in heaven”.   This is exactly the same as the mental exercise discussed in the paragraph above.  For this to work properly, however, one must trust the outcome afterwards.  Attempting to control the outcome will not work well.

MOVING ENERGY DOWNWARD ENHANCES THE HEALING INTENT OF THE BODY AND MIND

Interestingly, and I am not sure why, moving subtle energy downward with your mind seems to multiply and greatly enhance the power of the teleology or healing intent of the body.  This would tell us that the human body is polarized, like a magnet, and moving energy downward increases this polarization that assists healing.

Indeed, every aspect of a properly designed nutritional balancing program has precisely this effect.  This means that the food recommended, the supplements one takes, and the procedures that are used, all tend to move subtle energy downward.  At the same time, one must avoid foods like fruits and sugars that move energy upwards, and procedures like most yoga and even some chiropractic and acupuncture methods that move energy upwards.  For much more on this fascinating subject, read Downward Moving Energy And Healing on this site.

ISN’T IT DANGEROUS TO TRUST THE PROCESS?  WHAT IF IT FAILS?

Like trusting an autopilot, it is possible it will not work.  However, if it works properly, it is usually safer to trust the autopilot, as all ship and aircraft captains know.  The autopilot, like the teleology of the body, never gets tired, never needs to rest or sleep, and is amazing in its complexity and accuracy most of the time.

There are times when it does not work.  These are the few times that we resort to the use of remedies, such as Cantron to slow the progression of cancer, for example.  However, in practice, I find that the vast majority of the time, one can and indeed must trust the process of the wisdom of the body.
