I. INTRODUCTION

Recently we have had difficulty with our tap water. As a result, the author has been bathing using a sponge bath. It is quite good and saves a lot of water. Here is how to do it.

II. ADVANTAGES OF A SPONGE BATH

- Uses very little water.

- For the reason above, it is more yang than a shower and much more yang than a bath. This tends to be better for health.

- Sitting in the tub is much more relaxing than standing in a shower.

- Less need for towels to dry the body because less water is used.

- More control over the water. You can choose the water you use.

- Sitting down is much safer than standing in a shower.

- While sitting, it is easy to wash between the toes. This is important today because the alien group some call the thugs, crud, rogues or satans put equipment between the toes.

DISADVANTAGES

A sponge bath is more effort because there is no high-pressure spray. it may also take longer than a shower.

III. PROCEDURE

SETTING UP THE TUB

Place a small stool or seat near the back of a bathtub to sit on. This is more comfortable than sitting on the floor of the tub.

Place a paper towel on the floor of the tub halfway between the stool and the drain. You will set a pot of hot water on the towel. The purpose of the towel is to make sure the pot does not burn the tub.

MATERIALS

- A bar of soap. We recommend Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap.

- Kitchen sponge or other sponge for washing the body,

- Body brush with a long handle

- Spray bottle of fresh water and spray bottle of vinegar.

A toe brush is also good.

PROCEDURE

1. Fill a pot with about 1.5 to 2 liters of clean water. One can use spring water or carbon-filtered tap water if it is fairly clean.

2. Warm the water on the stove until it is fairly hot, but not so hot that one cannot touch it.

3. Bring the pot to a bathtub and set it on the paper towel near the front of the bathtub.

4. Climb into the tub. For safety, you can wear rubber or plastic shoes in the tub such as flip-flops.

5. Before sitting down, put water and soap on the buttocks area and genitals. Use plenty of soap. By doing this first, one can sit in the tub and wash the rest of the body without having to get up to wash the buttocks.

6. Add a little Grandpa Pine Tar Soap to the water. A lot is not needed.

7. Use the sponge to wash the entire body. Dip the sponge into the hot soapy water. In between washing each area, squeeze out the sponge into the bathtub. Then dip again into the soapy water. This will help keep the hot water clean.

Begin with the head. Then do the arms. Then do the front of the body. Then do the back with the sponge. Then use the body brush to wash the entire back.

Then do the legs and feet with the sponge. Be sure to rub the sponge all over the feet thoroughly, including between the toes. For better washing of the toes, use the body body brush and/or a toe brush.

8. Optional: Wash the shoes with soapy water and then spray with vinegar for extra cleaning.

9. Stand up and wash the soap off the buttocks.

10. sit down and thoroughly wash the genital area. It is often best to apply more soap to the genitals, leave it for 2 minutes, and then wash it off.

11. You are now done. Spray the sponge and body brush with a little vinegar to clean them. Throw away any remaining hot water. It will be dirty.

12. Get out of the tub and dry off. The sponge bath uses so little water you may not need to dry off very much.
