DEVELOPMENT

Etheric
development is the development of the etheric body,
one of the subtle human bodies that is essential for excellent health and long
life. It is also essential for
further spiritual development of the human being.
FOOD AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE SPIRITUAL VEHICLE
Food is the second most vital element in this type of
development today. (The first is
rest and sleep). This may shock some who are versed in spiritual
literature. The older spiritual
teachings basically ignore or even deny the importance of food and nutrition.
For example, the traditional bible and even the Buddhist
tradition discusses diet but little.
However, we must understand the reasons for this. In the first place, diet is not that
critical if one is healthy.
Unfortunately, most of those interested in spiritual development are not
healthy at all.
The second reason is that modern food processing had not
been invented. Nor had vaccination,
pharmaceutical drugs, thousands of toxic chemicals, intense electromagnetic
radiation, ionizing radiation from bombs and atom smashers, and other
sources.
Nor were automobiles available that allow people to
Òdrive-throughÓ to buy their Òfast foodÓ and eat it Òat the wheelÓ and Òon the
runÓ while driving the highways.
These are among the reasons why food must be oneÕs second most important
focus, second only to rest.
OTHER REASONS WHY FOOD
IS CRITICAL
Today, the impact of nutrition and diet is horribly ignored
and twisted by pharmaceutical advertising to a medical profession out of touch
with reality. The public health
authorities who inform us that the tap water is safe, the fluoridation is
needed and vaccines build health are no better and usually just brainwashed
patsies for the drug and chemical companies.
Parents, school teachers and other adults are little
better. Health food stores and
supermarkets often just push processed foods as well. They make far more money on processed food than on real
foods that spoil, for instance.
The result is a general population so ignorant that an
illiterate peasant from the poorest nation on earth knows hundreds of times
more about health and diet than most college-educated Americans, for example.
As a result, children are ALL born ill today. Then most are Òwell vaccinatedÓ which
almost dooms them to a life of health misery and other problems, especially the
boys, whom we particularly wish to reach with this message. Boys are more open to spiritual
development, believe it or not.
Fortunately, the tide is turning. Organic foods, natural health markets and advanced marketing
of these foods is slowly waking up the population. Exploding health care costs and horrendous new illnesses
such as autism, ADHD and the explosion in diabetes, cancer and others equally
awful are having their intended effects, to wake up a sleeping giant, as it
were – the American people.
STEPS TO CORRECT
EATING:
STEP 1. AVOID ALL
TOXIC AND CHEMICALIZED FOODS
This
means avoiding thousands of toxic chemicals, such as the sprays used on food
crops, for example. We are
eternally grateful to Michio Kushi
and George Osawa for their contribution in this area
and others. They introduced many
to organic agriculture, though of course it had been preached by many
agricultural scientists such as Dr. William Albrecht for years before.
Also
avoid preservatives, additives, colorings, flavorings, MSG, aspartame and the
hundreds of other chemicals found in todayÕs food supply.
STEP 2. AVOID EXTREME DIETS INCLUDING VEGETARIANISM AND ALL RAW
FOOD DIETS
The
bodies need cooked food and meats, in general. This is explained in other articles on this website. Basically, cooked food and meats are
yang foods. Raw food and
vegetarian diets are far more yin.
This harms the type of development I am speaking about, no matter what
other benefits these diets might offer.
Vegetarian Regimes. Vegetarianism is a major tenet of most of the worldÕs spiritual
religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism and others. This had great merit one thousand or more years ago, but we
do not recommend it for very one and only one important reason.
Animals,
however, possess a significant degree of etheric
development that is transmitted when one eats their flesh, nerves and bone
marrow. Muscle meats are helpful
today because they have rich amounts of nerves found in the muscles. Organ meats are less helpful for this
purpose, and for this reason are less recommended.
Also, and
most important, the bodies are so ill today, and the food so poor, that
vegetarian-only food will not nourish the extremely yin and sick bodies that
exist. The Dalai Lama knows this
and eats quite a bit of animal protein himself, but cannot recommend it to his followers,
sadly. He should just say, do as I
do, not as I say.
Vegetarian
diets are not recommended in the holy bible for this reason. This was long before modern, processed
and genetically modified food.
However, even then, it was not the best path for most of mankind. This has to do with a different topic, Yin and Yang. It simply does not work as well any more.
EAT MAINLY ORGANICALLY GROWN WHOLE FOODS
These are
simply of better quality, as a general principle. They generally contain much greater amounts of minerals and
other vital substances our bodies need. They are also usually less contaminated with pesticides and
herbicides, and other chemicals, though not always.
SPECIFICALLY EAT HIGH ETHERIC ENERGY
FOODS
Certain
foods and food categories promote development of the etheric
body more than others. These are
mainly animal quality foods or grains and cooked vegetables.
Here are
the categories of whole, organic, unprocessed foods that are best for etheric development in their basic order of importance. Note that this order may shift at
times, depending on a personÕs health situation and stage of development.
1. Whole Grains, particularly blue and yellow
corn and whole, brown rice or Basmati rice
2. Eggs and whole, raw certified, if possible,
dairy products such as milk, cheese and yogurt.
3. Meats, mainly wild game, chicken, turkey, and
lamb. A little beef,
buffalo and other meats are okay, except avoid all pork, ham and other pig
products as they may contain parasite cysts, even when well-cooked.
4. Vegetables, particularly roots, stems and
leaves (but not fruits that are eaten as vegetables such as peppers, squashes,
potatoes, eggplant and tomatoes.)
5. Nuts and Seeds - all
6. Fish – only small fish, however, due to
the mercury content of all large fish today. Fish must be eaten in moderation due to toxic metal
contamination everywhere, even wild-caught fish.
7. Legumes - all
8. Fruits - all
9. Sugars, alcohol, drugs and other processed
foods.
Now let
us discuss these in greater detail.
WHOLE GRAINS
These
have been eaten for millennia by all civilized nations. They grow well in a variety of
climates, but of greater import is their nutrients and etheric
energies.
They
contain vital nutrients that stimulate brain development. Among these are zinc and selenium, two
vital nutrients in this day as well that are removed when grains are refined
into white flour, corn starch, grits and many other refined products.
White
rice, incidentally, is not as bad as white flour, and white Basmati rice is not
a bad product. Most white rice is
not worth eating, however, due to its lack of nutrients. This, unfortunately, is what most of
Asia feeds on today, except for India, which still eats a lot of Basmati rice.
Grains,
if unprocessed, also possess a balancing property that is lauded in the
macrobiotic literature, and for good reason. It is one of the most valuable property of the grains for
spiritual and nervous system development.
Today,
our favorite grains are blue organic corn made into tortillas or more often
chips. Others include organic
brown rice, white Basmati rice and to some degree corn that is yellow or other
colors, but not the white corn that is really best for powering cars and little
else. It is, unfortunately, the
most common animal feed in America and around the world, however. Fortunately, most animals eat other
food as well to help balance this unhealthy diet of white corn. Nutrients in raw or even just fermented
grains are not as well absorbed.
In their general order of importance,
here are the grain foods to eat:
1. Blue corn/yellow corn
2. Millet
3. Rice
4. Quinoa
5. Amaranth
6. Oats
7. Barley
8. Rye
9. Flax
10. Wheat/spelt
11. Kamut
12. Buckwheat
EGGS
The
egg is the most remarkable of foods.
It is not only clean inside due to the shell. This is a great help traveling if you cannot find decent,
clean restaurants. It is also
incredibly nutritious. There are
stories of people living on eggs alone for several years with no problems.
It
is sad that the medical profession tells its flocks to limit eggs in the diet,
when this is one of the finest foods available on planet earth.
Buying Eggs. Here are a few cautions with eggs. They must be fresh or are not
healthful. Avoid all processed egg
products such as Egg Beaters, Scramblers and others. These are most likely oxidized and not healthful. They are also much more costly than
fresh eggs and never worth the cost.
Cooking Eggs. Eggs must be cooked a little. Most are not that bacteria-free. I do not trust the methods to supposedly
determine the freshness and quality of an egg by spinning it and seeing if it
tilts correctly. Cook your eggs
two to five minutes and no more. The
yolks should still be liquid and runny.
Overcooked eggs, such as hard boiled, become quite difficult to digest
and many of the excellent nutrients are lost. The egg yolks should be liquid if possible for the best egg
experience.
More Yolks. The egg yolk is extraordinary in the
brain fats, for lack of a better word, that it contains. Recall that this entire article is
about brain development.
The yolks
are so important that extra yolks should be eaten during many peopleÕs
development, not extra egg whites.
This is a common mistake many millions of people make.
The white
of an egg is not the greatest protein, in fact, although it is listed as such
by many textbooks. It is lower in etheric value than other meats because it contains so
little nervous tissue.
Dairy. Raw certified dairy products are very good, provided one is
not allergic to dairy. Goat or
even sheep or other animal dairy products are generally better than cow dairy
products. Dairy is the one
category of food that should be eaten in as raw a state as possible due to the
fine fatty acids it contains that are destroyed by pasteurization and
homogenization. The calcium in
milk is also damaged by heating the milk.
Also, do not cook with butter, as this damages it a lot. Have it just placed on top of food for
best utilization of its properties.
Pasteurized,
homogenized dairy is much more allergenic and not nearly as good a food, though
some is alright today, as the other can be difficult to obtain. Read Dairy Products

MEATS OR FLESH FOODS
This
group of foods are essential today, no matter what any guru tells you. We are sorry to say that too many
people have failed to achieve high levels of development for lack of animal
protein alone.
Please
be absolutely clear about why vegetarian diets are not highly recommended in
this age for the purpose of spiritual development.
The
highest etheric value meats and other flesh foods are
in the following order:
1. Lamb
2. Goat
3. Chicken, dark meat
4. Chicken, white meat
5. Natural Beef only. Avoid most beef, however, due to hybridization of the cows
today. Eat it only on occasions
and just a small amount in almost all cases.
6. Venison and other wild game.
7. Turkey, especially dark meat turkey,
naturally raised.
8. Rabbit
9. Pork and ham. These are never recommended. They are never clean, no matter what you are told in a store
or at even at a farm. They usually
harbor dangerous trichina parasites that cause misery in millions of people who
are usually totally unaware of why they cannot think clearly. The bible and the Koran are clear and
correct on this point.
VEGETABLES
Vegetables
should be organically grown where possible, and as fresh as possible. An exception is that frozen peas and
green beans are often the best way to eat these. Among the vegetables, the best are:
1. Ginger root
2. Burdock root
3. Parsnip
4. Celery root
5. Turnip
6. Kelp
7. Rutabaga
8. Carrot
9. Beet Greens
10. Black Radish
11. Peas
12. Broccoli
13. Asparagus (somewhat toxic, however)
14. Other sea vegetables. However, these are too high in mercury
in most cases, so eat them very sparingly.
15. Cauliflower
16. Onion
17. Garlic
18. Cabbage
19. Kale
20. Swiss Chard
21. Brussels sprouts
22. Daikon
radish. This is a bit toxic, but
okay once in a while.
23. Jicama
24. Sprouts – all
25. Water chestnut
26. Yam
27. Radish
28. Fava bean
29. String bean or Green bean
30. Summer squash *
31. Butternut squash *
32. Yam
33. Yellow squash *
34. Spinach
35. Zucchini *
36. Italian parsley
37. Cucumber *
38. Tomato *
39.Parsley
40.Potato *
41. Lettuce - all
42. Green pepper *
43. Red pepper *
44. Hot peppers – all *
45. Mustard greens
46. Collard greens
47. Chinese cabbage
48. Bok choy
49. Sweet potato
50. Celery
Cooked vegetables are the basis for the etheric diet.
The above and other vegetables grown around the world will form the
basis of the etheric diet, not the grains, meats, eggs or dairy, in most cases. We know this is unlike the Macrobiotic
arrangement of foods to some degree.
However, many people today do not do well on grains for a variety of
reasons.
Problems With Grains. Intolerance to
grains is very common today. Some
of it is due to the intense genetic modification of grains such as wheat, corn,
rice and others. This is the main
reason we advise against eating all wheat products whatsoever. This includes organic, whole wheat, and
most spelt as well, since this is a close cousin to wheat.
A second
reason for grain intolerance is intestinal yeast infection. This is so common today due to high
sugar consumption, copper imbalance, imbalanced pH, intestinal parasites and
more that it is almost universal.
Also,
grains are acid-forming, which is a large problem today. Most of the bodies are quite acidic at
the cellular level, no matter what the pH of the saliva, urine or even the blood. Thus, until the personÕs body has
become more alkaline, a largely vegetable-based diet is best.
Afterwards,
the grains are best, with a little meat and eggs. This is the ideal diet for most people today.
Cook Most Vegetables. It is important that
vegetables are cooked. This makes
them more yang in Chinese terminology, which means more contracted and
masculine in their energies. This
is needed today to balance the sick bodies, which are very yin in Chinese
terminology.
* Less Recommended Vegetables. Vegetables on the
list above marked with an asterisk are either of the following. Some are nightshade family
vegetables. These include
potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant and peppers.
These are not healthful for anyone and often cause a flaring of joint
pain and other inflammatory symptoms due to toxins they contain. Cooking them makes them slightly less
harmful, but very little is recommended or best to have none at all.
The
others marked with an asterisk are vegetables that are actually fruits, such as
all squashes and cucumbers. Any
vegetables with seeds, including tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, are
botanically speaking, fruits.
The only
squash that is highly recommended is the acorn type of winter squash, although
other winter squash is not bad, either.
Vegetables that are really fruits tend to be too yin to be eaten on a
daily basis.
NUTS AND SEEDS
Raw
nuts and seeds, in general, are extremely yin and not recommended foods. Toasted almond butter is an exception,
as it is more yang due to roasting and the butter form is easier to digest and
absorb.
Nuts and
seeds, however, are very rich in nutrients. Therefore they have been a staple food of mankind and, at
times, may be recommended for certain people in the process of spiritual
development.
While
occasional nut or seed butters are okay, eating handfuls of almonds and other
nuts or seeds is not recommended.
They are both very yin in Chinese terminology and hard to digest.
Soaking Nuts And Seeds. Seeds should be
soaked if they are to be eaten.
This is not needed for nuts.
Some, especially among the Weston Price followers, recommend soaking
almost all grains, along with seeds and nuts. This is not helpful, except for seeds that contain
inhibitors that are destroyed by soaking.
The trouble
with soaking is the food often becomes somewhat moldy due to the moisture,
though it is usually not that toxic.
Mainly, it is just not necessary.
Nuts and seeds. Here are the major
nuts and seeds, in their order of importance for this system of development:
1. Flaxseed or Linseed
2. Toasted Almond
3. Pine Nuts or Tree Nuts
4. Walnut
5. Hazelnut
6. Sesame seed
7. Chia seed
8. Pecan
9. Cashew nut
10. Brazil nut
11. Lichi nut
12. Sunflower seed
13. Pine nut
14. Macadamia nut
15. Pumpkin seed
BEVERAGES
Among
the beverges, water is by far the best for most
people. Later in the process of
development, more teas can be used.
In the beginning, where most everyone is today with few exceptions, teas
can be contaminated with mold and are not highly recommended. However, calming teas such as
chamomile, peppermint and others are fine as dinner beverages and should not
interfere with oneÕs development.
What
is more important is the water used to make them and the purity of the tea
product. Most are irradiated
today, an abomination that has nothing to do with need, but rather is a
political move only.
Thus teas
are not highly recommended for this reason, among others, at this time. We hope the law mandating that many
herbs be irradiated is reversed soon.
It is a subtle way to destroy the power of herbs, which interfere with
drug company profits.
They,
meanwhile, are permitted to buy potent herbs that are never irradiated, in
order to concoct numerous patent drugs that have actions due to their herb
content. This is an abominable
practice and one that needs to be stopped. Among
the best beverages are the following, in their order of importance:
1. Spring water
2. Distilled water
3. Black tea
4. Goat milk
5. Various mild herb teas like chamomile
6. Green tea
7. Nut and seed milks
8. Grain coffee
9. Coffee
10. Alcoholic beverages – never
recommended as alcohol damages brain tissues in all cases.
Adults
should drink at least three quarts of water daily, which is more than three
liters. Children can drink
proportionately less. Most people
do not drink enough water, and usually what they drink is of poor quality. Drinking coffee or sodas is never a
substitute for water. Only mild
teas can be drunk instead of water on a daily basis. Other beverages often dehydrate one, rather than hydrate the
bodies.
Water in Plastic Containers. Water should be as
fresh and pure as possible. Water
packaged in plastic jugs is fine, though of course glass would be somewhat
better. Warming the water a little will boil off many plastic residues that may
be left in the water.
Drinking
out of plastic bottles is far superior to tap water or reverse osmosis
water. Do not be misled by health
authorities that tell one that tap water is safe. It is never safe. Most has added chrlorine,
fluorides, toxic aluminum and hundreds of other chemical residues in it.
Reverse Osmosis Water. This is also often sold as
Òdrinking waterÓ, Òpurified waterÓ or even as mineral water by some dishonest
vendors. It is not highly
recommended. It is significantly
damaged by the plastic membrane it passes through. As a result, we find it does not hydrate the body well
enough. Also, the membrane and
Òpolishing filtersÓ are often dirty, even if you just changed them a week
before.
This is why
we mainly prefer distilled or quality spring water (not Trinity water, however,
which is very high in fluorides.)
Other Types of Waters. These include deionized
water, which is good as far as it goes.
It still has many toxic chemicals in it, however, for which reason it is
not recommended at all.
Carbon
filtration is also effective against some chemicals and metals, but many pass
through the carbon and carbon block filters. Therefore this is less recommended, though much better than
plain tap water if this is oneÕs best alternative. It is, by far, the least costly if cost is the issue.
Water Machines. The rage today are
alkaline water machines and water softeners and other gadgets. These are never recommended for a
number of reasons. First, they are
usually just carbon filters hooked to a machine. We have already mentioned the problems with carbon
filters. In addition, carbon
easily grows bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms that are harmful.
Also, the
claims for these machines are questionable at best. Also, the filters can become clogged in a week and one would
not know it. Also, the alkaline
water machines damage the kidneys with platinum and other toxic metals in a
horrible way if one continues to use them for more than a month or so. Please avoid all alkaline water
machines that I have investigated, so far, such as the Jupiter machines or Kagen water.
FISH AND SHELLFISH
Fish with scales would be excellent
secondary foods, although all are low etheric energy foods.
However, they are so polluted today with chemicals and metals they are
very low on our list of recommended foods.
Eat them
no more than once or twice weekly.
Avoid large fish altogether, such as tuna, swordfish, mackerel, shark,
halibut and others that are larger than a salmon, for example. Their mercury content is quite high,
making them quite toxic for human beings.
Canned salmon and small fish such as sardines are fine once a week.
Deep
ocean fish tend to be the cleanest, while those caught near shore or raised in
beds near power plants and other industrial facilities are usually the most
toxic. Avoid all fish, for
example, caught or raised in the Gulf of Mexico, an area loaded with oil
refineries and many other industrial facilities.
Shellfish are even
more contaminated than other fish.
They are also highly polluted with toxic metals, which most fish do not
have except mercury. This has to
do with their nature.
Avoid all
shellfish, all of the time. Once
again, the bibleÕs recommendation against shellfish of all kinds is a wise
admonition, as are many biblical food injunctions. Here is a list of fish to eat, in the best order based on
their etheric energy and general purity, though
exceptions occur. Other small fish
are acceptable as well.
1. Carp
2. Salmon
3. Tilapia
4. Sardines
5. Flounder
6. Sea bass
7. Trout
8. Walleye
9. Sole
EATING HABITS
This
topic dealt with in many other articles on this website. Here we will just say that meals should
be peaceful, quiet, avoiding noisy televisions and other distractions. Conversation should be pleasant, and
there is nothing wrong with eating alone, as this is usually even more
restful. One can watch TV or
listen to mild music if this helps one relax.
Also,
meals should be as simple as possible.
Avoid fancy restaurants with six-course dinners, in other words. Also, one or two foods per meal is
plenty for most people.
Food
should be tastefully prepared, but not doused with spices, herbs, salt, sugars
or other toppings. Natural flavors
of quality foods are delicious on their own. It is a pernicious habit to always feel you have to add
spice to every meal. This is not
only unhealthy. It is a huge waste
of time for anyone who is on the parth of spiritual
development.
Use
a food steamer, a simple saucepan or even a crockpot
or pressure cooker to cook your meals.
Do not use aluminum cookware unless it is coated. Also, do not use iron very often, as
most people have too much iron in their bodies already.
